Atchisson assault shotgun AA-12 would be my first pick, SIG P226, SW .44 Mag 629 I like all three
PLEASE…post the article “Ladies Guns” on page 58 of the Personal Defense Spring 2011 Special Edition online. You will be doing some men a great service especially some gun store owners. I can’t stand it when I walk into a gun store and ask to see a particular gun then I am handed the gun “I need to see”.
AR-15 for distance, 12 gauge for up closer, then my XD 45 for in my room close
Morning BamBam, I am reading through comments left on this website and I noticed you own a XD 45.
I also own a XD 45 acp and I am having a hard time finding a horizontal shoulder holster that fits this pistol. I was woundering if maybe you might have had the same problem and if you have any ideas. Thanks for your time.
12ga or 16ga with #1 buck up close 357 mag colt or smith distance M-14 or M1 grand
C-4, 50 cal machinegun, MK 19 grenade launcher, RPG, Stinger Missle. This is what the BATFE uses to arm the Mexican Drug Lords. Our hard earned tax dollars at work!!!
SIG P226 9 mm, Colt Delta Elite 10 mm and Mossberg 500 12 gauge and my Cane Corso
guns are in safe. I would use katana or combat knife. If I had time I would get my benelli auto. distance my ar10. if i had to use a pistol my .45 or 10mm.
Close indoor defense = Taurus Judge Magnum (3″ barrel / 3″ cylinder) with alternate birdshot and buckshot for the “dust and bump” effect.
Home Perimeter defense = 12ga Mossberg, buckshot.
Home Distance defense = M-4 , 65gr, soft point.
When its all over, then call 911 and the Coroner.
Semper preparadis!
My Sister-in-law resently had a near-miss with a possible mugger/rapist because she was unaware of her surroundings. Had it not been for another woman who noticed she was being followed, it’s hard to say what would have happened. I just read Roy Huntington’s article, “Your Personal Safety” and found it to be the perfect training aid for her, so I bought an extra copy and mailed it out.
Roy, Your article is OUTSTANDING. I operate in Yellow mode almost constantly, and I still learned much by reading it. I’ve shared this with friends at work, and now with my SIL, especially as she lives back East, where ccw’s are tough to obtain, and she’s not comfortable with firearms. If she can gain from your work, the ability to Avoid, Deter, and De-escalate, I seriously doubt she’ll ever find her self in such a situation again. I’ve also told her to start carrying a 4 D Cell Maglite, since she already owns one, and how to carry it and use it to both deter and strike if, God forbid, she ever need to.
Again, a fantastic article to learn from and teach from. I am a retired weapons instructor from the Air Force, and I start work next week for a self defence training academy here in CO. Your artical really spells out how to keep a situation from crossing into the Life or Death point if at all possible.
