For 30 years now I’ve enjoyed gun shows. I’ve attended ones ranging from less than 100 tables here in Montana to some with over 1,000 tables in Las Vegas. No matter how big or small, it’s amazing what neat things you can find at them. Also, every now and then you’ll run into some absolutely amazing idiots.

I’m not sure if this first guy was an idiot or just a jerk. As might be expected a gun’riter ends up with lots of extra magazines around the house; the kind you read, not the ones that go into pistol butts. Every few years I’ll buy a table at local gun shows and sell off those and other surplus stuff that gathers in my gun room. If I make lunch money out of the magazines, I’m happy. One year I put a stack out with a sign that said “8 for $1.00.” Right away this yo-yo came by and said sarcastically, “Those magazines you write for must be in trouble if they’re only selling for a buck apiece.” To which I replied, “Well they wouldn’t do you any good anyway if you can’t read better than that. The sign says eight for a dollar.” Away he went in a rush and I never saw him again.
